Botulinum Treatments

Dr. Rob Miller the Dermatology Rejuvenation Center is Halifax, Nova Scotia's leading medical aesthetic facility and the premier Halifax Botox Clinic.

What are Botulinum cosmetic treatments?
Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin® are injections of a prescribed FDA approved medication that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for excessive frown lines and crow’s feet lines.

Are there other commercial alternatives to Botox® Cosmetic?
As of 2013 there are two other Botulinum toxin products on the market: Xeomin® and Dysport®. They represent the same "Botulinum type A Toxin" but are produced by a different company using a different manufacturing process. They are injected in much the same fashion and have similar effectiveness and duration of action when injected in the proper dosing.

How do Botulinum treatments work?
Botulinum Treatments are administered only by Dr. Miller. It is a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.

What are the results?
In many cases wrinkles are completely eliminated, and at a minimum, significant softening of the wrinkles occurs. Results on average last 3-4 months.
